Asian Blepharoplasty/Double Eyelid Surgery

Before

There is tremendous variability in eyelid anatomy and appearance. Asian eyelids have the most variability in that the eyelid crease may be small, hidden, or sometimes absent. This patient presented complaining of a “monolid” and wanted a more westernized eyelid appearance.

After

After double eyelid surgery, or Asian blepharoplasty, this patient achieved her desired eyelid appearance. Asian blepharoplasty is performed in our surgical office suite with an anesthesiologist in the room to keep you comfortable and pain-free during the procedure.

Asian Blepharoplasty/Double Eyelid Surgery

Before

Successful asian eyelid surgery requires the knowledge and experience of an oculoplastic surgeon. This patient was referred to our practice stating she wanted more of an eyelid palate for makeup application.

After

After cosmetic Asian blepharoplasty, or double eyelid surgery, this patient enjoys a more symmetrical upper eyelid appearance and achieved her desired eyelid appearance. She also states that she enjoys her options using eye shadow following surgery.

Fraxel Laser Skin Resurfacing and Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Before

Lower lid wrinkles occur due to age-related changes to the elasticity of the connective tissues beneath the skin. Lifelong sun exposure can also result in wrinkles and loose skin.

After

After cosmetic fraxel laser skin resurfacing, the lower lid skin is tightened and rejuvenated. Fraxel laser is great at blending or softening skin pigmentations such as age spots and freckles. This patient also underwent upper eyelid cosmetic blepharoplasty enjoying a more youthful appearance postoperatively.

Male Asian Blepharoplasty/Double Eyelid Surgery

Before

Many men undergo eyelid surgery to achieve a desired cosmetic outcome. Double eyelid surgery is one of the most common cosmetic eyelid surgeries performed but requires careful attention to the patient’s individual eyelid anatomy.

After

Following Asian blepharoplasty, also referred to as double eyelid surgery, recovery involves minimal bruising and swelling over approximately a 2 week time period. Surgery is performed in our office surgical suite avoiding expensive hospital fees.

Blepharoplasty with Ptosis Repair

Before

Eyelid asymmetry often stands out more than symmetrically droopy eyelids. A wide variety of medical problems may lead to a droopy eyelid, which is best evaluated by an oculoplastic surgeon specialized in the evaluation and treatment of eyelids, tear drain, and eye socket (orbit).

After

Following ptosis repair on the left upper eyelid, this patient appreciates a natural, symmetrical eyelid appearance. With minimally invasive ptosis surgery, a small scar is hidden in the eyelid crease.

Upper and Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Before

Upper eyelids with dermatochalasis and fullness from fat prolapse. Lower eyelids with age-related fat prolapse.

After

Excellent symmetry and eyelid crease contour after upper eyelid blepharoplasty.Lower lids with decreased fat prolapse from selected fat excision.

Blepharoplasty with Ptosis Repair

Before

Upper eyelid dermatochalasis (extra skin) and ptosis (droopy eyelid) interfering with the patient’s vision and giving the impression of “looking tired.”

After

Following combined ptosis repair and blepharoplasty, the patient has a clear visual axis and a more youthful, alert appearance.

Blepharoplasty with Ptosis Repair

Before

Determination of the cause of droopy eyelids involves a thorough evaluation examining the eyebrows, eyelid skin, and the muscles within the eyelid. This patient was found to have both excess upper eyelid skin and weak eyelid muscles.

After

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty was performed along with ptosis surgery (eyelid muscle surgery) to address both of these patient’s problems. An oculoplastic surgeon is an eyelid specialist who can help determine the exact problem causing “droopy eyelids” and ensure the correct issue is being addressed.

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Before

Upper eyelid dermatochalasis may put increased weight on the upper eyelids, resulting in a droopy eyelid appearance.

After

After upper eyelid blepharoplasty, there is significantly less weight on the eyelids. Some patients report that after surgery the eyelids feel less heavy.

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Before

Age and sun exposure may cause excess skin accumulation above the eyelids, called dermatochalasis. Dermatochalasis can interfere with peripheral vision and limit the amount of light reaching the eye.

After

A postoperative photo after upper eyelid blepharoplasty demonstrating a natural, but more youthful appearance with significantly improved eyelid symmetry.

Blepharoplasty with Ptosis Repair

Before

This patient was referred for headaches from constantly lifting her eyebrows up – a natural tendency for patients with droopy eyelids, or ptosis. She had both a weak eyelid muscle and excess upper eyelid skin from age-related eyelid changes. Each of these issues may make a patient look tired despite feeling awake and alert.

After

Following ptosis repair and upper eyelid blepharoplasty, this patient enjoys improved peripheral vision and a more youthful appearance. One of the favorite jobs of an oculoplastic surgeon is to help a patient look as young as they feel.
